Most hosting providers also limit
the amount of Bandwidth your site is allowed to use
in a month, and charge extra if you go over that limit,
usually in the region of 5p/megabyte that is over the
imposed limit, and that could get expensive. Bandwidth
is the total size, usually expressed in gigabytes, of
the data being read from and written to your website.
So if the size of a page is 20k and it also contains
8 graphics of 10k each then when someone reads that
page they use up 100k of your bandwidth. So how big
are your pages going to be, how large are your images
going to be, how many visitors will you get and how
many pages will each visitor view. How much Bandwidth
a month do you need ? Tricky isn't it.
Our solution is to not impose
a fixed bandwidth limit, use what you like. With all
that unlimited disk space you may need it. Some sites
don't use much, some use a lot, so we treat the available
bandwidth as a pool available to everyone. This is possible
as a very large ratios of bandwidth per customer is
maintained, but as the vast majority of sites will only
use a fraction of the bandwidth available it leaves
large amounts in reserve for busier sites. It will only
become a problem if a site is using so much bandwidth
that it starts to effect other sites. However, if this
point is ever reached then the site in question would
have gone well over the limit imposed by most other
hosting providers and would have knocked up a large
bill for excess bandwidth usage. Please click HERE
